Pastor James Reid grew up in Hawaii. He was called to preach as a teenager and went to Hyles-Anderson College to study Pastoral Theology. While at college, he met his precious wife, Marilyn Yoshida. They were married and soon after completing college moved to California to serve at Faith Baptist Church in the Christian school and church. 

 

As time went on, God called Pastor Reid to serve in Hot Springs, Arkansas for many years as assistant pastor. While serving there, God gave him the desire to pastor. After many years of prayer, Pastor Reid received the call to come to Hawaii and pastor Friendship Bible Church.

 

Pastor Reid, his wife Marilyn, and two sons, Ken and Keith, moved to Hawaii in 2002. Pastor Reid has helped organize the church and start many new ministries including the bus ministry, organized soul winning, Serving our Soldiers (SOS) ministry, Good News Bible Clubs that meet in the public schools, and many more. The most exciting vision Pastor Reid has given our church is that of building our own church building. In early 2016, we moved into our first auditorium.  

 

Our pastor is a kind, patient man who preaches the whole counsel of God. He has much wisdom and has helped many families in our community through sharing his knowledge of the Word of God.
